We were warned about this one
1984 was a scorching, deeply disturbing piece of literature that is often required reading in schools, much to Republicans’ chagrin. In recent years, Republicans have begun taking on the characteristics of Big Brother to an unheard-of degree. I suppose these members of the GOP, if they ever bothered to read the book at all, came away with the wrong lessons learned entirely.
The Trump administration fancies itself Big Brother. And like the Big Brother of 1984, they want EVERYONE to love them, to look at them with worshipful eyes, letting forth willows of grateful tears that THEY are here to save us all. Unfortunately for the Trump administration, their big plan has already fallen apart, as poll after poll after poll after poll shows that they are the most despised presidential administration in history. Sorry, Big Brother.
But they won’t stop. Perhaps they can’t stop. Mind games and gaslighting are all that they have. “We’re not playing.” You all likely heard about the arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, who has been released. He was arrested outside a DHS facility for no good reason, surrounded by the vultures of 1984, the types of people that Orwell, so very long ago, warned us all about.
It was bedlam. Did you see it? Perhaps you saw the screaming vultures practicing force and intimidation against anyone daring to disagree with their viewpoints. On CNN, Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at DHS, defended the arrest—or rather, she tried to. Nothing she said made much sense, and the longer the segment went on, the more frayed she seemed to get.
Big Brother is ALWAYS upset when they are met with disbelief. Lying that the Mayor “stormed” the facility, even though clear video shows he did not do ANYTHING wrong, she acidly suggested that Congress people may be arrested in the upcoming days.
“I think that we should let viewers know there will likely be more arrests coming.” Then she added: We’re not playing. Neither, my friends, are we. Allow me to spell out, most succinctly, precisely what will happen if Big Brother goes through with these arrests.
The Trump polls will plummet even lower. They will plunge into their thirties. Some polls suggest they’re already in their thirties. It will be a top story. People will recoil in horror. Anger, red-hot, will be directed at Trump and his minions. Republicans anxiously dreading the midterms will run even further from their town halls.
This will happen. Why? Because this is real life, we do not WANT big brother. No 1984 for US Americans! We want no thugs in big brother masks telling US they’re holding up five fingers when we know it’s only four. We want no 1984 Brethren pollinating in OUR lands.
If the Trump administration thinks this will provide them with political capital, they’re even stupider than we thought. This is because WE do not, nor will we EVER, love Big Brother.
