We told you Steve Bannon was going to prison

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When Donald Trump gave Steve Bannon a federal pardon, Palmer Report – and for that matter numerous legal experts – predicted that Bannon would still end up criminally charged. The pardon was poorly written and easily worked around on a federal level, if the DOJ decides to go there. And in the meantime, New York has reportedly been pursuing Bannon on state charges, which federal pardons don’t cover. Now it turns out New York is all over him.

Not only is the Manhattan District Attorney bringing a criminal case against Bannon for pretending to build a border wall, the New York Attorney General’s office is assisting with the prosecution, according to a new report from the Washington Post. If you’re a DA, you don’t bring in the big guns like this unless you’re already certain you can get the grand jury to deliver a major indictment, and you’re confident that you’ll be able to get the charges to stick at trial.

In other words, Steve Bannon is very likely toast. He’ll end up sentenced to several years in prison for this. Here’s the part we find interesting. This is the same Manhattan DA who’s bringing a landmark criminal case against Donald Trump, and the same New York Attorney General who’s bringing a wide ranging civil probe against the Trump Organization. At what point do they attempt to get Bannon to flip on Trump? And will Bannon take the deal?
