I want to expand on what we’ve touched on since the election. And that is the role of the media. It’s challenging to convey the complete fracture of the media and who and what they’re supposed to be. A free and independent press is vital in good and bad times.

Throughout this whole election, the media has played games with democracy and has reported not on policy positions but on mindless gossip. These media pundits let their professionalism float away into far-off lands while welcoming their new roles as kings and queens of high school gossip.

Let’s look at a few things here. The Democrats, under Joe Biden’s leadership, were able to cap the price of insulin. This was and is a remarkable achievement. How many TV segments do you think were devoted to it?

The CHIPS Act—what a great thing for our communities! Infrastructure Day really did happen under Biden! How many segments did the media do on it? Now, let’s look at a third topic of conversation: Joe Biden’s getting older. How many segments do you think the media did? 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11…….and so on.

These segments on Biden’s age became the ONLY thing the media would talk about. On and on it went, as ISSUES — real issues that SAVE LIVES went by the wayside. Of course, they did it to Kamala as well. Once she replaced Biden, it was all about her laugh—her voice.

Was Kamala distancing herself enough from Biden? Was she distancing herself too much? Who IS Kamala? Why doesn’t she have give more interviews? And her competitor? He stole classified documents. How many segments did you see on that? He was found to have committed sexual assault. How many segments did you see on THAT?

Sexual assault means taking someone against their WILL. It is CRIMINAL. How much air was sucked from the room talking about Kamala’s relationship with Biden rather than Trump’s relationship to assaulting, demeaning, and taking — women — again their will? We need to do something about the media, and we ALSO need to discuss something in earnest.

Bill Palmer once remarked on this and the remark was brilliant. It never left my mind, and it could symbolize all the issues we have with the media.He said it’s not that Democrats don’t have a message. It’s that it doesn’t get AMPLIFIED in the right way.

So true! The GOP owns talk radio. Thus,, when drivers hurrying home from work, turn AM radio on, they will hear angry voices drilling relentlessly, using nails to pound and pound, making sure that words like “socialist” stick, making sure that the foundation of scaring the ever-loving crap out of people is glued firmly in place, making sure they are loud, proud and that the listeners are cowed.

I’d like us to be a bit louder. I think we NEED to be. I do not mean cursing and foaming at the mouth, loud. But we need to be EVERYWHERE.
