We need to be 100% behind President Joe Biden right now
What exactly am I missing here? While the rapist-in-chief was murdering a 9/11 quantity of Americans every single day due to his inept and divisive Covid policies, while he was writing hate-filled, life-endangering tweets excoriating individual Americans because he didn’t like them, while he was promulgating the Big Lie and trying to disencfranchise millions of American because he didn’t like the outcome of the 2020 election, while the rest of the time he was promoting Vladimir Putin and playing golf, he was enjoying an approval rating in the 40s!
President Joe Biden, who is a decent, hard-working, conscientious man who distributed the Covid vaccine in record time, who husbanded a $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill through a deeply partisan Congress, who signed into law the first significant gun safety bill in nearly 30 years, who has defended democracy across the globe, who is no friend of Putin but a true friend to Ukraine and America’s allies, who rejoined the Paris agreement and is attempting to resuscitate the Iran nuclear agreement has an approval rating in the 30s? What the hell is going on here?
While it’s well-known that Joe Biden wasn’t my first choice of candidate, the hour, the minute, the microsecond he became the Democratic candidate I became an inveterate and true blue Biden supporter. He became my President on January 20, 2021, and he has remained my President ever since. If he’s not yours then you need a reality check. You need to take a little stroll back to 2017 and recall how awful it was to have a fascistic, deranged psychopath for president. Maybe you’re forgetting just how bad it was. Maybe you’re just spoiled. I would suggest whatever it is you get over yourself. Stop making perfect the enemy of good.
Joe Biden is one of the greatest presidents we have ever had. He’s undone much of the horror visited on us by Donald Trump. He has also restored much of America’s prestige in the eyes of rest of the world. He is presiding over a strong economy. Those things that are wrong in America — the repeal of Roe, gas prices, inflation — are emphatically not Biden’s fault. But he’s trying his best to fix those things too.
We need to be 100% behind Biden. We are faced with a global climate crisis. We are faced with the possibility that America could become a theocracy. These are desperate times and Joe Biden is more than equal to the task. But we must get behind him. He may be plain water, but people dying of thirst in the desert don’t hold out for Evian. So let’s get behind Biden! And, as ever, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, comrades and friends, stay safe.
