Donald Trump is making this way too easy

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

For all the evidence and indictments, Donald Trump’s fate will ultimately be decided in the court of public opinion. His base is 15% to 20% of the country; based on approval ratings, he’s being propped up by another 15% to 20% of the country who don’t love him but haven’t yet given up on him. Robert Mueller’s job is to use the legal system to prove to the American public that Trump needs to be ousted, so he will be ousted, so Mueller can then put him on trial. Trump just made things way too easy for Mueller today.

Donald Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort is about to go on trial for conspiring with a Russian oligarch against the United States, and conspiring with a Russian spy to tamper with witnesses, among other things. Trump’s best friend Roger Stone is about to be arrested for conspiring with Russian government spies to deliver stolen Democratic Party secrets to the Trump campaign. Those spies were just indicted on Friday. Russian agent Maria Butina, an alleged conduit between Trump and Russia during the election, has just been arrested. But none of that may matter as much as what Trump himself did today.

Donald Trump stood there today next to Russian President Vladimir Putin, and revealed himself to be a total Russian puppet who has no affiliation with the United States. Trump was so desperate to curry favor with Putin, presumably in the feeble hope that Putin might find a way to bail him out of this mess, he didn’t even try to create the appearance that he’s anything other than a puppet.

Those 15% of 20% of Americans who are outside of Trump’s base, but are still passively propping him up? They’ve been sitting around and waiting for the evidence to come in, so they can decide whether to believe those who’ve accused Donald Trump of being a Russian traitor, or those who’ve insisted it’s all a witch hunt. Trump just got up in front of the cameras and made the answer very clear for all to see. His core base may never abandon him, but they’re not large enough to save him. Everyone else saw Trump confess today to being a traitor. Mueller’s job just got way too easy.
