Rod Rosenstein declares war on the Trump allies who are targeting him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

While Donald Trump will certainly go down in history as the biggest traitor to America, there will be much written about those who were complicit in doing everything they could to protect him. Special Counsel Robert Mueller will likely be called an American patriot in future school books for taking down Trump on conspiracy against the United States and a multitude of other charges. Following the recent reports that Mueller warned Trump’s legal team of a potential subpoena to testify before a grand jury, Trump supporters, including GOP members of Congress, have stepped up their conspiracy theory rhetoric, looking for any excuse to end the investigation.

Following Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ recusal from all Trump-Russia investigations, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was thrust into the role of overseeing the investigation. Because of this, Rosenstein was the one to sign off on all issues related to the investigation, including the extension of surveillance into members of Trump’s campaign who had regular contact with known Russian agents. At this point it should be pointed out that Rosenstein is a lifelong Republican and is in his position because he was appointed by Trump.

In an attempt to further obstruct justice and protect Trump, several Republican members of the House of Representatives have recently upped their attacks on Rosenstein. Knowing that he’s the overseer of Mueller’s investigation, these complicit Congressmen have threatened to impeach Rosenstein, with the sole intention of interrupting the investigation.

Similar to how Mueller will likely be remembered in American history, Rosenstein is showing his patriotism, refusing to back down to those trying to obstruct justice and end one of the most important investigations in American history. He spoke out against this attempt during a Q&A session, stating “There are people who have been making threats, privately and publicly, against me for quite some time. I think they should understand by now the Department of Justice is not going to be extorted. We’re going to do what’s required by the rule of law.” These are the words of an American who is willing to stand up for what he believes in, regardless of party, and ensure our country is above partisan politics. This is the type of Republican who will not be remembered as having been on the wrong side of history when this short, sad time is over.
