Donald Trump continues his maniacal day by declaring war on California and Washington State

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

So far today, Donald Trump has tried to project his coronavirus failures onto everyone from Nancy Pelosi to Joe Biden. Trump is failing on every level, he has no idea how to handle the current crisis, he sees his reelection prospects flashing before his eyes, and he’s been directly exposed to the coronavirus by a Brazilian official. So now Trump is seeking a new target.

Donald Trump is publicly floating the possibility of limiting travel to and from the states of California and Washington, if the coronavirus outbreaks in the two states get any worse. Before anyone panics, keep in mind that when Trump starts floating horrible ideas like this, he rarely acts on them. When Trump does do horrible things, he usually just does them, without publicly talking about them first. So the fact that he’s talking about this means it’s probably less likely he’ll do it.

That said, Donald Trump is well aware that California and Washington are two liberal states that he’ll lose in November no matter what he does. So he has no problem taunting these two states by publicly threatening to basically quarantine everyone in them. The real fear here is that by saying this, Trump could set off a round of panic travel in and out of these two states, thus potentially increasing the spread of the virus.
