Wait, what is this even supposed to be?

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has spent his day ranting about golf (yes, golf) on social media, and ranting about Ron DeSantis in a truly incoherent political speech. He doesn’t appear to be properly focused at all on the fact that his civil fraud trial starts tomorrow, and is likely to bankrupt him.

Yet Trump’s campaign apparently sent out this email to his supporters:

.
Aaron Rupar is solid, so we’re going to go ahead and assume this Trump campaign email is real. In such case, it’s almost impossible to figure out what this email is even trying to convey.

“According to news reports,” Trump will be at his trial tomorrow? Trump doesn’t know if he’ll be there? He’s listening to the news to find out if he’ll be there? What is this even supposed to mean?

Keep in mind that Donald Trump can’t “get away with” anything by failing to attend his fraud trial. This is a civil case, so if he refuses to show up and defend himself, the judge can use that as a basis for more severe financial penalties. But Trump is going to lose this trial whether he participates in it or not.

The real story here is that Donald Trump and his faux “campaign” are such a joke that he’s sending out emails that suggest he has no idea whether he’s attending his own trial. I’ve been saying it for awhile: this isn’t a real campaign. It’s simply a flimsy attempt at funding Trump’s criminal defense by pretending like he’s running for office. Trump keeps proving me right about this.
