Wait for it
– This wait is excruciating. From a mathematical standpoint, the major media outlets could have conceivably called the race for Joe Biden since Wednesday morning, and by all rights should have called it this morning. But if they’re waiting until Biden runs up the score a bit before calling it later today because they want to take away Donald Trump’s ability to argue that they called the race too quickly, then I think I’m okay with it. This isn’t about what’s fair. It’s about finishing him off.
– I can’t wait til Joe Biden gets sworn in so I can start capitalizing the word President again.
– Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney just said Donald Trump should put his “big boy pants on” and concede the race now that he’s lost. This has always been the most effective way to deal with Trump. Verbally punch him in the mouth and get him on defense, where he’s more likely to make a mistake. Also, this kind of brash talk ensures that the media will at least report what both sides said, instead of merely regurgitating Trump’s brash talk.
– Tweet of the day, from Lawrence O’Donnell, and I agree with every word of it: “First they asked what happens if Trump doesn’t concede. We explained that it doesn’t matter. But they kept asking. Finally everyone understands. Same with the question what if he won’t leave the White House. Soon everyone will understand leaving isn’t up to him.”
