Vladimir Putin strikes again
Russia Russia Russia. Donald Trump is so very bored with Russia. Are you bored with Russia, too? Since the Mueller Report, I’ve noticed a certain hesitation, even on the left, to talk about how Russia and its friends impact the US. The suppression of the topic interests me. Election meddling is Vladimir Putin’s specialty, one he’s worked decades to perfect.
We need a refresher course in what he has done to us and what he’ll continue to do— because he’s very busy right this minute dividing DT’s opposition against itself. Things Putin is known (per Mueller) to have tried to use and influence:
– anti vaxxers
– NRA, gun rights activists
– Black Lives Matter
– anti abortion
– anti climate science
Any old wedge issue will do. Throw in some apathy and aggrievement, and you get a fully toxic use of a free society against itself. Work work work those wedges! Throw in some smears and some emotional memes, and you can fix yourself an election. Until Donald Trump is gone, our world cannot begin to heal. Climate issues will never be addressed, toxic sludge will be dumped in our waterways, immigrants will be locked in cages. A “political revolution” cannot happen until he’s gone.
Strategy is hard. It means putting one’s emotions on the back burner, and using one’s intellect instead. “Useful idiots” never know they’re being used- to recognize how they’ve been manipulated would result in ego damage- and so they plod on until, like Michael Cohen, a catastrophic PERSONAL EVENT wakes them to their folly. We can’t wait for people to personally drink toxic sludge and wake up. We don’t have the luxury of making a mistake to learn from. We have only this time, right now, to close our ears to the distractions and take determined, positive steps to save ourselves from Donald Trump and his psycho Russian friend.
