Donald Trump goes off the violent deep end against Adam Schiff
This past week the media reported that Donald Trump had told Republican Senators he’d put their “head on a pike” if they sided against him in his impeachment trial. This came even as a recording was released of Trump telling two known criminals to “take her out” in reference to U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch.
Now Trump has reached a new low today, posting this tweet about Respected Congressman Adam Schiff: “Shifty Adam Schiff is a CORRUPT POLITICIAN, and probably a very sick man. He has not paid the price, yet, for what he has done to our Country!”
Donald Trump’s tweet, particularly within the context of his increasingly violent rhetoric, reads like a specific call to violence against Adam Schiff. In fact, if anyone else were talking like Trump is now talking, they’d be getting a visit from law enforcement. Considering the vast power of the office that Trump currently holds, and the murders that his allies and supporters have carried out (from Jamal Khashoggi to Heather Heyer), law enforcement should be taking Trump into custody.
This comes just days after Donald Trump’s Secretary of State Mike Pompeo took an NPR reporter into a back room and began screaming and cursing at her, while vowing retaliation against her. Trump and his people are completely losing it as his presidency unravels, and they’re only going to go further off the deep end as it all goes wrong for them.
