Victory has never felt so close
I’ve spoken before about Donald Trump’s envy of Obama. Envy is Trump’s middle name. It is a terrible emotion that does nobody any good. However, Trump’s envy is helping us an awful lot. Why is that? Because Donald Trump is letting his unending monstrosity of inky envy make mistakes. Just look at this latest one.
Trump has again brought up Obamacare. We are going to get rid of it, he has vowed. And I am going to come up with something even better. It would be laughable were it not so sad and pathetic. You see, readers, the people, as you know, LIKE Obamacare. No, that’s not true. They LOVE Obamacare.
Please show me a poll anywhere, from any year, EVER, that shows the American people do NOT like Obamacare. The pundits can’t do that because there IS no such poll. And Donald Trump — because of that envy — is now reminding people of one of the things they love so much — one of the things Republicans want to take away.
Now, even Trump, as stupid as he is, must know that people love Obamacare. This, my friends, is where his narcissism comes in. He knows. He knows, but he can’t stop himself anyway. His envy of Obama is THAT THICK.
Trump looks at Obama, the golden sun that he is, with fury. Obama, after all, is much more than a former President to Donald Trump. Obama is the personification of all Trump will never be. Let’s look closer at this envy.
Smart? Obama’s got that down. An orator? Of course! Show me someone — anyone — who has the natural orating skills of Former President Obama. There is no one. Successful? But of course! And kind. Obama has a family whom he puts first and whom he loves.
Obama is still one of the most much-loved people in America. His Presidency was a success, a golden sparkle so much more successful than Donald Trump’s wretched Presidency.
And Trump knows all this, although it certainly might be subconsciously. In the long term, though, it does not matter. Why? Because every single time Trump brings up Obamacare, another voter — or a hundred or a thousand –are reminded of health care as a RIGHT.
They are reminded WHY they vote — and have voted — Democratic. They remember fondly signing up for the ACA. They think of their Spouses and children. People working complex jobs with no health insurance think of Trump and the GOP and taking their health care away — taking another RIGHT of their’s away.
It is one of the most universally loved things — Healthcare — GOOD healthcare, much NEEDED healthcare. So let Trump continue to go on and on, spilling forth the hate that drives him to threaten to yank healthcare from millions. Let him say that.
And every time he says it, Trump encourages more people to vote –Democratic. Isn’t it fun? Trump does not know it, but he is helping us win — he is getting us MORE votes! Victory never felt so close.
