Valley of the dolls

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

One of the scariest books this writer has ever read has to do with — dolls. I’ve read hundreds, maybe thousands of scary novels. This one is up there in the fear factor. Its subject is human beings whose souls become entangled in dolls’ bodies. This means that they’re still ALIVE, but people don’t KNOW that because all they see are little dolls.

Imagine! Imagine the terror, the futility of KNOWING you’re alive, but you are now trapped, reduced to living in the figure of a small doll that nobody knows contains – well — you. Yes, that book still sends shivers down this writer’s spine. BUT — when one really stops and thinks about it, isn’t that sort of what we have RIGHT NOW, right this very second, in the GOP?

The GOP is the valley of the dolls. The members have eerily become new persons, adjusting to their new lives—as Donald Trump’s little dolls and marionettes. They sit quietly until it’s THEIR time to play, and then the doll master ORDERS them to do their dance of obedience. The worst aspect is that they’re are hopelessly trapped, reduced to no more than puppet status but they’re not even TRYING TO escape!

Let’s look at a few of them. JD Vance is warning people that Liz Cheney is “dangerous.” That’s right, a woman who was a Republican power house is dangerous — all because she endorsed Kamala Harris. JD Vance is a doll — Trump’s plaything.

Then there’s Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, who never met a lie he didn’t like. Cotton is still spreading misinformation about the hurricane relief money, betraying his oath of office since he appears to be working only for Donald Trump — not for the people he is supposed to represent.

Then there’s MTG — miserable, terrible Greene — Marjorie Taylor Greene. Greene accused the federal government of controlling the weather. President Biden had to reprimand her publicly.

Conservative pundit Megyn Kelly is unhinged. The failed former journalist exploded in a loony rant about Kamala Harris’s doing the “Call her daddy” podcast.

Inexplicably comparing Harris’s appearance to a visit to the Amsterdam Red light district (I’m not making this up) ,Kelly declared insanely that American women have been abandoned.

Then there’s creepy Mike Johnson. His response to the hurricane disasters has been abysmal. Democrats asked him to reconvene Congress, but he won’t. How DARE the Dems ask him to ask his caucus to work!!!

Then there’s Missouri senator Eric Schmitt, who, appearing on Fox, said somberly that Kamla Harris shouldn’t be “inserting” herself into the hurricane. Inserting herself! She’s the Vice President of the United States!

All of these people are living in bodies they likely never dreamed they would before the horror movie began. All these people are dolls, eerily on display, mouths contorted into sick smiles, Trump-ordered smiles as they forfeit their lives away to live as dolls, puppets, as Trump toys, unearthly dolls who sit on their political shelves, to be taken off, dusted up and shown to the American public whenever their puppet master needs them.
