Donald Trump has utterly psychotic meltdown about Nancy Pelosi after she completely corners him
If you want confirmation of how thoroughly Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has cornered Donald Trump on impeachment, you need look no further than Mitch McConnell throwing up his hands and admitting he wants nothing to do with the Senate impeachment trial that Trump wants so desperately. But if you really want confirmation that Pelosi has Trump cornered, just listen to Trump himself.
This afternoon Nancy Pelosi publicly invited Donald Trump to give the State of the Union on February 4th. This means he’s facing the prospect of having to show up to the House and give a speech to the people who just voted to impeach him, without the benefit of a Senate acquittal. Trump seemed to figure out that Pelosi totally outplayed him on this, because he lashed out accordingly.
Donald Trump posted this surreal tweet, which is cartoonish even by his standards: “Nancy Pelosi is looking for a Quid Pro Quo with the Senate. Why aren’t we Impeaching her?” In this one fairly brief tweet, Trump has managed to use the phrase “quid pro quo” incorrectly, while calling for Pelosi to be impeached when she can’t actually be impeached. This tweet represents arguably the most direct, facile, and idiotic instance of Trump’s projection tendency to date. Next he’ll be tweeting “I know you are but what am I?”
