Donald Trump throws Rudy Giuliani under the bus

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump is so afraid to fire Rudy Giuliani, no matter how badly Rudy screws up, you have to figure Rudy must be holding criminal dirt over his head. Throw in the fact that Trump is paying Rudy $20,000 a day to lead the most ineffective legal challenge of all time, and it makes things even more curious.

But Rudy Giuliani keeps getting laughed out of court, including a new ruling by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court today. And Rudy’s team has been such an embarrassing joke, Trump had to fire Rudy’s associate Sidney Powell last night. Now Trump is finally throwing Rudy under the bus by leaking to NBC News that Rudy and his remaining team are “fools” that are making him look bad.

To be clear, this is Donald Trump’s way of assigning Rudy the blame for all this losing. Back when Trump first put the comically inept Rudy in charge a few weeks ago, Palmer Report predicted that Trump was only doing so because he knew he was going to lose all these legal challenges anyway, and once he did, he wanted to be able to blame some someone who was obviously incompetent.

In any case Trump is still falling short of actually firing Rudy Giuliani, which probably goes back to whatever Rudy is holding over his head. But it does look like Trump has moved into the blame game stage. This means he has no more cards to play. All he can do is blame the loss on Rudy and give up.
