Ugly new blow for Pete Hegseth

These last few weeks have not been kind to Pete Hegseth. First, there was Signal Gate. Now, reports are coming fast and furious that the Pentagon is reportedly “in chaos.” Hegseth is losing staffers faster than the speed of light. It’s being reported that he has lost four staffers in a one-day period. That is not only not good news, it’s cataclysmic.
Hegseth’s been through a lot in the short time he’s been a “leader.” Reports have abounded on what a piss-poor job he’s done and is doing. But now, things look even more dire for him. His Chief of Staff, Joe Kasper, is reportedly leaving. Three staffers who were on leave are now being terminated, bringing the total to four. So, what’s up with Hegseth? Well, for one, he has always lacked the qualifications to do this job in a mature and professional manner.
By all rights, Hegseth never should have even been nominated. But we’re dealing with an administration that hires people for how good they look on TV—NOT for their qualifications. According to Politico, the “whole damn place is in “turmoil.” Personality clashes, rivalries, and infighting have been tearing things apart, and it seems like Hegseth has little control over his people.
Per Politico: “The changes will leave Hegseth without a chief of staff, deputy chief of staff, or senior advisor in his front office.” Also: “There is a complete meltdown in the building, and this is really reflective on the secretary’s leadership.” Also: “There will probably be more chaos.”
These people who commented did so anonymously, but there are an awful lot of them, and if they’re correct, that means that the chaos isn’t going to stop anytime soon. That is not good news for Hegseth. A leader must lead. They must be able to control chaos and infighting, and right now, it seems like Hegseth is completely helpless to stop either of these things.
