Donald Trump launches into bizarre rant about two women

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

With his criminal scandals now closing in on him from all sides by the hour, Donald Trump decided to renew his public attacks today on the Department of Justice. Naturally, he spewed so much jarring and unhinged nonsense, it’s somewhat difficult to parse the depths of his latest depravity. However, one thing does stand out. Actually, it’s two things, and they’re both references to women.

Donald Trump’s unintentional use of the phrase “text massages” when he meant “text messages” is still getting most of the attention, because wow, does this guy ever screw up when he screws up. Trump is also getting attention for accusing Attorney General Jeff Sessions of being “missing in action” and “scared stiff.” We actually agree with both those assessments, though for entirely different reasons than Trump is implying. But we should probably instead be paying attention to two very weird and inappropriate “compliments” Trump delivered within his rant.

This morning Trump mentioned “Peter S and his lover, the lovely Lisa Page” in reference to Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who were having an affair while working together at the FBI. We’ve seen Trump comment positively on Page’s looks before, and we’ve been tempted to simply chalk it up to the fact that Trump is a sexist piece of crap who can’t refer to a woman in a professional capacity without bringing that woman’s physical attributes into the discussion. But then it got weirder.

Donald Trump then began making false accusations about “Deputy A.G. Bruce Ohr and his beautiful wife, Nelly.” Of course Ohr is no longer the Deputy AG, and his wife is named “Nellie” not “Nelly.” But here we have Trump once again commenting on a woman’s physicality. Why? After all, he’s attacking all of these people, including the two women whose beauty he’s praising. It almost sounds like a mafia style threat along the lines of “It would be shame if anything happened to that beautiful wife of yours.” In any case, something is off here, even by Trump’s usual deranged standards.
