Earlier today Donald Trump’s beleaguered Secretary of State Mike Pompeo threw a tantrum about how he wasn’t going to allow any of his State Department employees testify in the House impeachment inquiry, without even bothering to try to provide any legitimate reasons. At the time, Palmer Report pointed out that Pompeo was seemingly throwing his tantrum over nothing, because he couldn’t block the two State Department witnesses the House really wanted to talk to.

The first two State Department witnesses being targeted by the House impeachment inquiry are actually former State Department people, meaning Mike Pompeo and the Trump regime don’t have any official control over whether or not they show up and testify. It was just a matter of whether recently fired Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch and recently resigned U.S. Envoy Kurt Volker were looking to cooperate.

Sure enough, confirmation has now surfaced that both witnesses will indeed testify in the House impeachment inquiry – one of them very soon. Volker is set to testify the day after tomorrow, according to Daily Beast reporter Erin Banco. This is crucial because Rudy Giuliani has already gone on TV and shown off text message conversations he’s had with Volker, meaning Volker can (and will) testify about what Giuliani and Trump were really up to.

Yovanovitch is now officially set to testify next Friday, after having originally been expected to testify tomorrow. Donald Trump fired her as U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine just as he started trying to extort Ukraine’s president into helping him rig the 2020 election. This suggests that Trump knew Yovanovitch wasn’t corruptible – which means her testimony should be valuable as well. So much for Mike Pompeo’s tantrum.
