White House suspiciously claims Mike Pence was in two places at once

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

On Friday evening, the United States and its allies launched a bombing run in Syria. Donald Trump is known to have been at the White House while the attack was carried out. Mike Pence is known to have been thousands of miles away in Peru at the time. But according to the White House, Pence was also in the White House at the same time he was in Peru.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders posted this tweet to the official @PressSec account on Twitter on Saturday evening: “Last night the President put our adversaries on notice: when he draws a red line he enforces it.” She included a photo with this caption: “Inside the Situation Room as President is briefed on Syria – Official WH photos by Shealah Craighead.” The trouble is that Mike Pence is in this photo, seated next to Donald Trump, at a time when Reuters confirms he was indeed in Peru:

This has prompted a whole lot of people to try to figure out how Mike Pence could be on two continents at once. Did they clone him? Does he have an even more evil twin brother? Is this like when Pence posted a fake photo of himself at an NFL game? Unless this photograph was photoshopped, it clearly was not taken on the night of the U.S. military operation against Syria. It gets weirder, because Nikki Haley is also in this photo, but CNN confirms she was in New York at the time. So what kind of game is the White House playing here?

Based on the “briefed on Syria” wording of the caption, our best guess is that this photo was taken when Donald Trump was first briefed about the Syrian gas attack roughly a week ago, and the White House is trying to dishonestly pass it off as having been from Friday night. Why? We couldn’t begin to guess. Perhaps Trump didn’t think he looked good during the photos taken of the situation room on Friday night. Maybe the White House wanted us to think Mike Pence was there for the sake of appearances, and they’re too dumb to realize everyone was going to figure it out.
