Twitter just buried a White House tweet too
Late last night, Donald Trump posted a tweet calling for the National Guard to shoot protesters in Minnesota. After a few hours of massive backlash, Twitter decided to hide Trump’s tweet from the timeline, replacing it with a warning label about “glorifying violence” instead, marking the most severe action that Twitter has taken against Trump to date.
This morning Trump decided to test the limits of Twitter’s willingness to crack down on him. He posted the same message about shooting people to the official White House account on Twitter. But sure enough, Twitter also hid that tweet, replacing it with the same warning label about glorifying violence.
It’s clear that Twitter is done messing around with Donald Trump’s antics. He’s holding a press conference at 2pm eastern time today, during which we expect he’ll do a lot of whining and complaining, while making empty threats against Twitter. But at this point we don’t expect Twitter to back down.
