Donald Trump wishes he had this tweet back

Dear Palmer Report readers,

We all understand what a dark era we're heading into. Journalists will be prosecuted. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Advertising networks can't be counted on. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight, because someone has to.

In that regard we're looking to start funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens or how dark things get. We've launched a reader supported fund, and we've already raised $3360 and counting. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can contribute here. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Bill Palmer

Donald Trump spent Barack Obama’s entire presidency trolling him on Twitter, in the most ridiculous of ways, in the hope of attracting the most ignorant audience possible. Since Trump illegitimately took office, he’s been finding out the hard way that he’s not any good at it, and that Obama was far better at it. There’s a Trump tweet for everything, and now there’s one he’d really like to have back right about now.

About five and a half years ago, Donald Trump posted this surreal tweet:

Of course no serious person would ever suggest that it’s a President’s responsibility to go shake hands with a bunch of sick and contagious people. But as Donald Trump has spent his entire life reminding us, he’s not a serious person. Now that people on Twitter have unearthed this old tweet of his, it’s given everyone license to facetiously suggest that Trump go shake hands with coronavirus patients.

There’s nothing funny about the coronavirus crisis, here or abroad. But since we’re stuck with this sick punchline of a President during this crisis, we might as well pummel him mercilessly for his sheer idiocy – so long as we make sure it ends up translating into actual votes against him.
