Donald Trump would like to have this tweet back

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

On Friday, Donald Trump once again threatened to enact a coronavirus financial relief package by executive order, if he can’t work out a deal with Congress. That’s rich, considering that by all accounts Trump is the one who’s holding up the deal. It’s even richer considering that Trump can’t actually do most of what he’s threatening to do by executive order.

But the real kicker is that Donald Trump doesn’t even believe in what he’s threatening to do – or at least he didn’t before he took office. Back in 2014, when Barack Obama was still President, Trump tweeted this: “Repubs must not allow Pres Obama to subvert the Constitution of the US for his own benefit & because he is unable to negotiate w/ Congress.”

That’s right, there’s a tweet for everything. It’s the latest reminder that Donald Trump doesn’t actually stand for anything, or believe anything. He just takes whatever side of an issue best suits him on any given day. The guy is a joke – and not the funny kind.
