Turns out there was a very different story behind Donald Trump’s mugshot bravado

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. Donald Trump (insurrection party, not a strawberry blonde, and not weighing 215 pounds), reportedly has been keeping secrets from us! And one of those secrets was revealed over the weekend. Apparently, Donald Trump did everything he possibly could to avoid having his mug shot taken.

The Guardian’s Hugo Lowell appeared on MSNBC and said Trump had spent days and WEEKS leading up to the big day, trying, in vain to keep a mug shot out of the equation. This does not surprise you, does it? Of course, he would try to get out of that. But alas, he tried in vain.

Donald Trump reportedly begged his lawyers to find some way — any way — he would not have to have the indignity of that mugshot taken. Reportedly, he literally pleaded with his lawyers to negotiate with the Sheriff’s office.

Alas, all his efforts were for naught. The Sheriff’s office reportedly told the lawyers their orange child was NOT getting any special treatment. You know, since Trump’s mugshot was released, it’s been a joy to pass it around. But somehow, now knowing of the putrid man’s terror of ever having it taken in the first place, that just makes it all the MORE joyous.

I expect Trump really did assume he’d get special treatment. Perhaps he thought everybody in the Sheriff’s office would swoon when he entered the room. Perhaps he even fantasized about said swooning. Instead, all he got was: Turn this way please, a flash of camera light, and a VERY ugly mugshot. Score: Trump zero, Lady Justice running the table.
