Turns out Rudy Giuliani put his house up for sale right before Jack Smith named him as a co-conspirator in Trump indictment
Earlier today Jack Smith’s team met with Bernard Kerik and grilled him about Rudy Giuliani’s role in trying to overthrow the election. It helped make clear that when Jack Smith listed Giuliani and five other co-conspirators in the indictment of Donald Trump, it wasn’t just for kicks. Smith is looking to pressure them all into flipping, and if that doesn’t work, he’ll indict them. Now it turns out Rudy may have seen his fate coming.
Giuliani reportedly listed his New York City home for sale just a few days before Jack Smith named him as a co-conspirator in the Trump indictment. So the timeline is that Giuliani did a proffer session with the DOJ, apparently realized just how screwed he was, and decided to sell his home just before he got named a co-conspirator.
There are a couple reasons Giuliani could be selling the house. One would be that he’s decided he’ll need the money in order to fund his legal defense in his inevitable criminal indictment. The other would be that he now expects to go to prison, and thus doesn’t expect need a home anyway – which would in turn suggest that he thinks he’s headed for prison even if he cuts a cooperation deal. Either way, Giuliani appears to understand just how screwed he is.
