Turns out Matt Gaetz is even dumber than we thought
Matt Gaetz is a man who is watching his world crumble piece by piece, and so he keeps acting out accordingly. At last count the DOJ has flipped three inside witnesses against him, meaning he’s on track to be criminally indicted on serious charges, and – in spite of his protestations of innocence – very likely to be convicted and sent to prison. He knows it too. It’s why he keeps escalating the disgustingness of his rhetoric, and why he kicked it into high gear after the media confirmed that the DOJ is indeed criminally investigating his political godfather, Donald Trump.
In an interesting bit of timing, new footage is just now surfacing of Matt Gaetz speaking with Roger Stone back in 2019, when Stone was about to go on criminal trial. Gaetz essentially told Stone not to flip on Trump, because Gaetz was working on a plan to get Trump to pardon Stone. Sure enough, Stone stood firm and allowed himself to be convicted, only for Trump to commute Stone’s sentence and then later pardon him.
It’ll be up to the legal experts to determine whether Gaetz’s exact words in this footage are enough to qualify as obstruction of justice, but either way, that’s the least of Gaetz’s legal troubles. In fact the real story here is just how stupid Gaetz is.
Gaetz was apparently out there convincing Stone not to flip on Trump in exchange for a pardon. And sure enough, Stone got his pardon – but Gaetz didn’t. There has been reporting that Gaetz asked Trump for a pardon but Trump turned him down. Gaetz insists he never asked for a pardon. But this means that either Gaetz is stupid enough not to have sought a Trump pardon, or he was stupid enough to have helped out Trump only for his pardon request to be turned down. Either way, Gaetz is seemingly on track for indictment and prison because of just how stupidly he handled the Trump pardon spree. The guy is simply an idiot.
