Turns out Kevin McCarthy completely blew the Matt Gaetz thing

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Kevin McCarthy had the chance to remove Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene from committees before it hit the fan for them, and then he could say “see we took action before anyone.” But he froze up, and now we get to use Gaetz and Greene against every House Republican in 2022.

Control of the House in 2022 will be decided by races in moderate districts that could go either way. These are the districts where being chained to the likes of Gaetz and Greene is a nightmare for the Republican candidate.

As always winning these districts requires putting in the work. So it’ll come down to whether we attack these House races with the presumption that we can win them, or whether we waste the election cycle lamenting about how the bad guys are supposedly “getting away with it all.”
