Turns out Eric Adams isn’t off the legal hook after all
Eric Adams must be pretty unhappy about now. This is because the Judge decided for now, not to drop the case against him, preferring instead to appoint an outside council to get this person’s opinion on whether these charges are serious and could yield a conviction. The case, Judge Ho wrote, requires “careful deliberation.”
Wouldn’t it have been wonderful, my friends, if we’d all been flies on the walls to SEE the look on Adams’s face as he got THIS news? Many are now praising the judge, saying he did the right thing. I strongly agree. For Adams, there will not be a moment’s peace in his life as this goes on.
Were Adams a more humble human being, he’d understand this, and also understand that the right decision would be to resign. That would be a good fix for a problem that really has begun, for the mayor, to mushroom out of control.
Only hubris holds Adams’s ass in his seat. Perhaps that will change as his friend Andrew Cuomo will soon be his adversary if reports are correct. Cuomo does look like he will jump into the race. Complicating the Mayor’s life further, his approval rating is so low; it would be rather HUMILATING for him to run. Who runs on a 6-12% approval rating? I suppose the answer to that question for now, is Eric Adams.
