Turns out Donald Trump is indeed running scared
When Donald Trump spent his entire second E. Jean Carroll trial attacking her, he wasn’t “getting away” with it. The whole thing was pretty much a running meter which helped contribute to the massive $83.3 million in damages that the jury decided he owed her.
The question was whether Trump’s unhinged nature would prompt him to keep attacking her after the verdict, which would likely cost him even more money if Carroll circled back to court, or whether Trump’s cowardly nature would make him petrified of Carroll.
For now, at least, it’s clear that Trump is running scared. He gave a bizarre speech in Las Vegas today, during which he wandered off script at several points. But he never did start attacking Carroll.
This is notable because it’s a reminder that for as much as he’s referred to as a bully, Donald Trump has typically cowered to anyone he was afraid of. We’ll see how long it lasts. But Trump sure is a coward when it comes down to it.
