Rudy Giuliani’s butt dial phone call may have given something major away about Donald Trump’s Turkey scandal

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

We’re all still laughing our butts off over the fact that Rudy Giuliani accidentally butt-dialed an NBC News reporter and spilled a bunch of secrets in the process. But in addition to being yet another “Rudy is an impossibly cartoonish idiot” story, the timing of the call may have given something major away about Donald Trump’s Turkey scandal.

The most intriguing part of the voicemail is when Rudy Giuliani asks if “Robert” is around. Rudy’s unknown associate responds by saying that Robert is “in Turkey.” Then Rudy says “The problem is we need some money,” and he goes on to spell out that he’s referring to “hundreds of thousands of dollars.” The key here is the time stamp on the voicemail.

Although NBC is just now publishing the story today, it says that Rudy Giuliani left the unwitting voicemail on October 16th. That’s just three days after Donald Trump abruptly announced that he was pulling U.S. troops out of northern Syria for the benefit of Turkey. So Trump makes this bizarre and terrible move, and just seventy-two hours later, Trump’s lawyer is talking about getting his hands on hundreds of thousands of dollars from a guy named Robert who just happened to be in Turkey at the time.

Are we supposed to believe it’s a coincidence that Donald Trump made a head scratching military withdrawal that harmed the U.S., harmed its Kurdish allies, and helped Turkey, and then right afterward, Rudy Giuliani was talking about scoring some kind of major payout from a guy in Turkey? Or course it’s not a coincidence. This raises new questions about what role Rudy’s international criminal schemes may have played in Trump’s deadly decision to pull out of northern Syria.
