Tulsi Gabbard just stepped in it

It is one thing to knowingly choose incompetent people to make up your cabinet, but when that incompetence relates to the national security of this country, it is dangerous. Strike plans against Houthi (terrorists backed by Iran) targets across Yemen were texted to various people who would need to know, except one of them didn’t: Jeffrey Goldberg of the Atlantic. According to Goldberg, the message included specific information about weapons packages, targets, and timing. Goldberg wrote that journalists sometimes use Signal, but when he saw who was in the thread, he thought it was a hoax until the strikes happened as they were laid out in the thread.
Tulsi Gabbard, the incompetent Director of National Intelligence, tried to downplay this mistake while being grilled by the Senate Intelligence Committee. The Irish Star reported that she simply refused to answer questions asked by members of the committee. Mark Warner asked: “Director Gabbard, did you participate in a group chat with the secretary of defense and other Trump senior officials discussing the Yemen war plans?” She began with: “Uh, Senator, I don’t want to get into the specifics…,” but Warner cut her off to ask whether she was “TG” in the group chat. Gabbard continued to say that she wouldn’t get into “specifics.” Warner also asked whether the information was classified, and she said that she couldn’t get into specifics because the matter “is currently under review by the National Security Council.” What a bunch of screw-ups, with Gabbard and Pete Hegseth leading the charge. We knew he was incompetent when he was nominated. How do you go from being a right-wing channel show host to leader of our military? Gabbard is right there with him, parroting a false statement from the White House that no classified materials were shared, and no war plans were discussed. Funny, Goldberg contradicts Gabbard. As mentioned earlier, he thought it was a hoax of some type because, surely “the national-security leadership of the United States would [not] communicate on Signal about imminent war plans.” Think again, Mr. Goldberg, think again. This displays the sheer incompetence of the group Donald Trump put together to protect our national security. They didn’t even know who Goldberg was and why he was in the chat. Don’t you think these people would verify who is on such an important chat? Now that the news is out, what has Donald Trump done?
According to Irish Star, he put out an “outlandish statement blaming Biden.” Seriously? What is wrong with this doofus who is running our country? His statement further lashed out at Democrats and “their media allies” for forgetting the results of the mission. So, are the results more important than the fact that they added a journalist to their classified call? The statement ended with: “The Trump Administration’s actions to hold the Houthis accountable has been a massive success and nothing can distract from that unrelenting action to keep America safe.” Nothing except jeopardizing national security, but the fact remains that they didn’t even bother to check everyone on the call. It could have been much worse.
