She is tall and elegant-looking and carries herself with head held high. Her dark hair and eyes have led many a MAGA Bro to talk of her loveliness. She is well known in political circles, with a modulated tenor and tone and sharply flickering laser eyes that miss nothing. And she’s been accused of being a Russian asset.

In the wake of Gaetz’s withdrawal from contention for AG, this writer feels more attention should be paid to the woman affectionately dubbed “Russia’s girlfriend.” Tulsi Gabbard should not be the director of national intelligence. Her nomination is a warning bell signaling danger. We should not to let this Putin sympathizer have access to the kind of intelligence we have.

Tulsi Gabbard, who has never worked in the intelligence world in her life, is Trump’s pick for this job because of course she is. Gabbard is not much of a friend to our intelligence community, having previously referred to our foreign policy as “imperial” and “heavy-handed.”

Two years ago, lawmakers accused her of parroting Putin’s talking points. Adam Kinzinger has called her “traitorous,” as have many. She has denigrated President Biden and Covid vaccines. She has appeared to, at times, support Putin in his beastly war against Ukraine.

She was also a skeptic of Syria being behind the chemical weapon attack in which dozens were killed. She has also defended Assad. I could go on and on and on and on. The point is that this woman should never, under ANY circumstances, get anywhere near our intelligence.

We must discuss her nomination and tell our senators to vote no. She is an absolutely terrible nominee, one whom Russia is openly celebrating right now. They appeared thrilled at her nomination because, of course, they are. We need to make sure Russia’s girlfriend gets nowhere near this job. It would be dangerous for everyone.
