Tucker Carlson’s fourth strike
What do you think of when you hear the word “rapture?” For me, I think of two things. One is the extraordinary song by the group “Blondie.” The other is delight — joy — pleasure. So allow me if you will to tell you a story about rapture. It is the rapture of Tucker Carlson. It is about his rapture in hurting people — not physically but with his words.
Words can hurt. Words can do much destruction. But if one has no conscience, one can feel rapture when one speaks those words.
Tucker was giving a speech at Awaken Church in California. And he began talking about the Covid.
The booster shots and vaccines came up. And Tucker said this: “I skipped the first three; I’m not getting that one either.”
The applause was — rapturous. Tucker continued on.
“I look at these people, like, this does not make sense. And I have no idea what’s up here, but whatever you’re telling me is not true.”
The crowd went wild. Love and rapture flowed from the audience, enveloping Tucker in its weight. And so, let’s talk about these comments because there can only be two explanations. Perhaps Tucker is telling the truth. Maybe he has never received even one jab.
But you have to ask yourself: why would Tucker actively encourage others not to take the jab? Some of these church-going folk obviously look up to Tucker. What if they do as he says and gets sick?
The other possibility is that Tucker is lying. Fox had a policy of ALL their workers needing the jab before entering the Fox studios. Could they have made an exception for Tucker? If not, that would mean Tucker stood in that Church — the trusting eyes of the church-goers upon him — and knowingly lied.
So I call on Tucker to tell his audience the truth. It’s the least he can do.
He likely won’t do it, though, because Tucker has always been reticent about whether he’s been vaccinated.
Then the higher-ups at Fox need to tell us. They also need to reign in their little rat of a pundit who apparently doesn’t care if the people who adore him get sick. No matter which explanation is correct, neither one exonerates Tucker. Both show he doesn’t give a damn about his audience — those enraptured people who look with devotion at this terrible person.
