Donald Trump completely gives up: “try getting it yourselves!”
Governors and mayors are stepping up to take charge in the coronavirus response – and it’s a good thing, because Donald Trump has been botching things on a deadly level. Now Trump is signaling that he’s just flat out giving up on the response, and he’s admitting it out loud.
When Donald Trump held his conference call today with the nation’s governors, the New York Times is reporting that he told them this: “Respirators, ventilators, all of the equipment — try getting it yourselves.” Wait a minute, what?
Try getting it yourselves? Does Donald Trump not even understand that he’s the President of the United States? How are governors supposed to make something like this happen, when the President of the United States can’t do it? Of course that’s the reality we’re now in: the “President” is a complete screw up who’s scared of his own shadow, falling apart cognitively and psychologically, and can’t be counted on to do anything.
It’s well past time for Donald Trump to resign. He’s not even trying to do the job. Now he’s flat out admitting that he can’t or won’t do the job. We’re in the middle of a pandemic, and we don’t have a President of the United States. We have a rotting blob.
