Trump’s potential VP pick Kristi Noem just stepped in it even worse in dog shooting scandal

All that South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem had to do was say nothing and do nothing, and she likely would have been one of the frontrunners to be Donald Trump’s VP pick (for whatever it’s worth to be on the bottom half of a ticket where the top half is on criminal trial and headed for prison). But Noem wasn’t able to do that, and now that she’s made a mess of herself, she’s digging an even deeper hole.

Noem bragged in her new book that she once shot a young hunting dog just for fun because she hated it. She also claims she missed the first time and killed a goat instead. Even among sport hunters and gun addicts, her story is resonating very poorly. It’s one thing to shoot a dog that’s old and sick instead of having the vet put it down. But this is something very different.

Now that Noem has received condemnation from all sides, to the point that she may have put her political future at risk, she’s trying to fix it. But she’s doing so by claiming she only put the dog down out of necessity because it was attacking livestock, after she’s already admitted that she killed the dog because she hated it. Kristi Noem is merely digging herself a deeper hole.
