Earlier today we learned that, in the month since Michael Cohen cut his plea deal, he’s spent the entire time selling out Donald Trump to Robert Mueller. Cohen has told Mueller all about Trump’s relationship with Russia, according to ABC News, over the course of several hours-long interviews. But that’s only half the story, because Cohen has also been spending quality time with another law enforcement entity.

Here’s the key passage from the ABC report: “Cohen is also cooperating with a separate probe by New York state authorities into the inner workings of the Trump family charity and the Trump Organization.” Although Donald Trump is the head of the Trump Organization, it’s long been widely reported that three of his kids have had their fingerprints all over its operations: Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump, and Ivanka Trump.

We don’t know precisely what New York State is focusing on when it comes to the Trump Organization. The only confirmed aspect of the investigation relates to the original entry point, which was the plot by Donald Trump and Michael Cohen to illegally pay off women during the election to keep them quiet. But there have long been reports that Ivanka and Don Junior were heavily involved in the Trump Organization’s ill fated Trump Soho partnership with convicted Russian mafia money launderer Felix Sater.

If Michael Cohen has provided proof that Donald Trump’s kids knew their real estate projects were being used for money laundering, then he’s just sent them to prison. Keep in mind that New York State can indict and arrest members of Trump’s family while he’s still in office, and he wouldn’t be able to pardon them, or fire anyone involved with the state level investigation. In addition, Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg cut an immunity deal last month, potentially giving investigators even more ammunition against Trump’s kids.
