Trump’s House GOP goons go completely off the deep end after House passes impeachment resolution

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The House passed a resolution today formalizing the terms of the impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump, a major step forward in Trump’s ongoing downfall. This left the House Republican minority with nothing to do but whine, and they did precisely that. Some of them sound like they need medical attention.

We already brought you the story of how House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy decided to act like a two year old today, in the latest reminder that he’s as much of an idiot as he is a jerk. But McCarthy wasn’t the only one who stepped up to remind us today that the Republican Party has dissolved into nothing more than a home for bottom-feeding lowlifes.

House Republican Louie Gohmert, a man whose behavior during televised committee hearings has routinely suggested that he’s mentally unstable to the point of being a danger to himself and others, said this quote today according to Axios: “It’s about to push this country to a civil war if they were to get their wishes. And if there’s one thing I don’t want to see in my lifetime, I don’t want to ever have participation in, it’s a civil war. Some historian, I don’t remember who, said, guns are only involved in the last phase of a civil war.”

That’s right, Donald Trump’s House Republican supporters are now joining him in throwing around the term “civil war” because the duly elected House majority is daring to exercise its constitutionally prescribed duty with regard to impeachment. Trump committed treason when he called for a civil war on Twitter several weeks ago, and now his goons are echoing him. But none of this psychotic babbling will stop Trump’s presidency from being constitutionally dismantled. Trump is going to prison.
