Turns out the Trump White House stupidly left a breadcrumb trail for House Democrats

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Of all the stupid things that Donald Trump and his White House have done, one of the all-time stupidest was to take all the evidence from all of Trump’s corrupt conversations with foreign leaders and bury it in the same highly classified server. It set up a situation where the explosion of just one of his international scandals quickly led to everyone knowing where the evidence is buried in all of his international scandals. Now it turns out to be even worse than that.

In the Trump White House’s paranoid desire to keep anyone from nosing around in the secret server and finding the evidence, it set things up so a log was automatically kept of who accessed which documents and when. As Politico’s Natasha Bertrand has pointed out, this means House Democrats just have to get ahold of this log in order to know who all was participating in this conspiracy to misuse a classified server to hide evidence of Trump’s crimes.

Because everyone involved in this scheme was potentially committing a crime by misusing a classified server, there’s a decent chance that at least one of them will decide to cut some kind of immunity deal and sell the others out. That means the House impeachment inquiry just has to find one person involved with this conspiracy who’s willing to turn over the access log, and suddenly the House will know precisely who else to squeeze.

Donald Trump’s effort at getting his own people not to testify against him is already cracking. This morning his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo threw a tantrum about the House impeachment inquiry subpoena, and ordered his own people not to cooperate. But then two of his former people, both with detailed knowledge of the Ukraine scandal, confirmed they’re testifying anyway. How many more of Trump’s former people are selling him out as we speak?
