Trump stooge Peter Navarro melts down and gives away the entire game
Even by Trump world standards, Peter Navarro is a deranged idiot. He reminds us of this every time he opens his mouth. In fact even some former members of Trump world have made a point of openly calling him “deranged.” Now Navarro is doing something typically Navarro, by going on MSNBC this evening and confessing to the entire January 6th plot.
Let’s be clear: Peter Navarro isn’t playing four dimensional chess here. This isn’t some secret double agent thing where Navarro is somehow magically helping Trump get away with it all. This is just an idiot running his mouth because 1) he’s an idiot, and 2) Trump and his allies clearly can’t control him.
That sound you hear right now is the January 6th Committee laughing its collective ass off. Peter Navarro just admitted on television that Trump really was trying to pull off a coup on January 6th. Navarro just admitted how he and Steve Bannon, who has already been arrested for criminal contempt in relation to the January 6th investigation, tried to conspire with Republicans on Capitol Hill to steal the 2020 election. The plot didn’t come within a million miles of ever having had a chance of working, but that doesn’t matter. The intent and the effort was clearly there, as Navarro just confirmed.
The only question now is what happens next. Does this mean Peter Navarro will be willing to publicly testify to the January 6th Committee and make these same confessions? If so, great. If not, the committee will have him arrested for contempt, and then just use today’s MSNBC footage as his de facto testimony. What’s stunning is that neither Donald Trump, nor anyone else who’s been trying to keep the January 6th plot from further unraveling, seems to have any ability to keep Navarro from running his idiotic mouth.
