Trump stooge John Eastman just lost in court

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It’s still puzzling how the mainstream media can look at the Department of Justice carrying out search and seizure warrants against Donald Trump’s top henchmen, John Eastman and Jeffrey Clark, and still claim with a straight face that there is “no indication” the DOJ is investigating Trump. What do they think the DOJ is targeting Eastman and Clark for? Unpaid parking tickets?

In any case, the DOJ moves forward with the Trump criminal probe, even as the media keeps insisting that probe doesn’t exist. After the DOJ seized Eastman’s phone – not an easy warrant to obtain – Eastman filed in court to try to get it back. Apparently he thought that was actually going to work.

But this is the real world, and people who are under federal criminal investigation can’t just make court filings that are the equivalent of mean tweets, and expect it to work. Instead the judge in the case ruled that the DOJ’s warrant was valid, and that Eastman – shocker – could not have his phone back.

To be clear, this doesn’t really delay anything. There’s no such thing as somehow magically “running out the clock” when it comes to federal criminal probes. The DOJ already had to show the court strong evidence that Eastman’s phone contained even more evidence of criminal activity, just to get the seizure warrant to begin with.

So assuming the DOJ finds on Eastman’s phone what it thinks it’ll find, Eastman is going to end up criminally indicted. And of course the point of targeting someone like Eastman is to get him to flip on his criminal co-conspirator, Donald Trump. Yet the media keeps insisting that all of this somehow isn’t an indicator that the DOJ is investigating Trump. Even in CNN’s above-linked article reporting the news of Eastman losing in court, Trump’s name somehow only gets mentioned once, and fully ignores the fact that the DOJ is targeting Eastman for crimes he conspired with Trump to commit.

Sooner or later the media is going to have to acknowledge what’s pretty obviously going on here. The question is at what point John Eastman will acknowledge that he’s so screwed, he’s better off just cutting a deal against Trump while he still has the leverage to get significant leniency.
