Trump is falling apart already
The past is a roaming river with deadly undercurrents, always in the rear-view mirror, trying to pull us backward into its sunken yesteryear. Sadly it succeeded with this year’s election. For some unfathomable reason, many voters chose destruction over peace, chaos over harmony, and now we’re going to pay the consequences. For four years.
My friends, if there is a silver lining here, it is this: Donald Trump will enter his second term already a lame duck. He can’t run again. He has only one term—a nightmare term, to be sure, but one final last term, a ticking clock counting down to zero.
We will have rough waters in these four years, but after they are over, we will never have to worry about Donald Trump being a part of our political discourse again.
It will be over. HE will be over. Hold onto that thought, enclose it in a metaphorical jewelry box, and take it out and brush it off on those days you feel despair or pain. Know that Donald Trump is already becoming a part of our past as each day, we count down to the end of his term.
In the meantime, Donald Trump is already starting at a disadvantage. That disadvantage is his cabinet picks suck bigly, and there seems to be a growing chorus of Republicans who are voicing their displeasure.
Donald Trump is a big fan of the New York Post. In an op-ed posted Tuesday, they BEGGED Trump to pull the nominations of Gaetz and Gabbert, talking about — rightfully so — what awful picks they are.
“Pictures.” Matt Gaetz is all but finished. Now, there is talk that many on the House ethics committees have numerous photographs linking Gaetz to women he paid for sex.
Lawrence O’Donnell warned on his show that the Gaetz nomination is all but done and that he will not be confirmed.
It’s also reported that the Trump transition team is looking at other options for Pete Hegseth as defense secretary. Reportedly, many in Trump’s inner circle are displeased that Hegseth did not reveal the details of a sexual assault allegation against him.
So yes, Turmp’s nominees are flopping. I expect some to get through, but not all of them, and certainly not Gaetz. One has to remember that Trump starts his term unable to run again, and no, he cannot do anything to get a third term; there is no such thing, and it will not happen/ He is a lame duck and much of what he wants will never happen.
