“Trump Heights” is a farce and no one should fall for it
As has so often been the case during his failed presidency, Donald Trump has conspired with bad people to manufacture yet another phony accomplishment that isn’t anything close to what he’s claiming it is. This time around it’s something called “Trump Heights” in Israel, and – to the surprise of no one paying attention – it’s not real.
The U.S. Ambassador to Israel is a guy named David Friedman; he’s a Trump lackey. The Prime Minister of Israel is a career criminal named Benjamin Netanyahu; he’s roughly as bad for Israel as Trump is for the United States. Friedman and Netanyahu announced today that a settlement in the Golan Heights has been renamed “Trump Heights” in honor of Donald Trump’s supposed greatness. But it turns out the whole thing is pretty much – to borrow a phrase from Trump – fake news.
Barak Ravid from Israel’s Channel 13 News posted this tweet which spells out just how much of a farce this whole thing is: “To my dear friends in the international press: A settlement by the name of “Trump Heights” or “Ramat Trump” doesn’t exist. It [may] exist in the future but the Israeli cabinet still hasn’t even decided to do it. For now there’s only a sign. A huge sign. Like Kim Jong Un’s envelopes.”
So now we know the real story. “Trump Heights” is literally nothing more than a sign that was erected so Netanyahu and Friedman could take a photo op in front of it. There is no village by that name. There is no indication that there will ever be a village by that name. The sign will surely be demolished once Netanyahu or Trump is sent to prison – whichever comes first.
