“Trump Employee 4” also received a target letter
There’s a lot of debate right now as to whether Donald Trump’s indicted co-conspirators Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira will end up flipping on him. The truth is, no one can predict such things; it’s anyone’s guess. But this latest superseding indictment was a good reminder that there’s usually someone cooperating. Just ask the “Trump Employee 4” in the indictment, who appears to have cooperated against the others. Here’s the kicker: Trump Employee 4 has also received a target letter.
That news comes by way of the Daily Beast, which has confirmed that Trump Employee 4 is a guy named Yuscil Taveras, who was in charge of the Mar-a-Lago surveillance system – and he received a target letter back in June. Yet the indictment text suggests that he ended up cooperating along the way, and he obviously didn’t end up getting indicted alongside De Oliveira.
There’s more than one way that these pieces of information could fit together. But it sounds like maybe Taveras wasn’t cooperating until he received a target letter, and that scared him into becoming a cooperator. If so, it’s a good reminder that the likes of Nauta and De Oliveira may ultimately be scared into cooperating as well. Not everyone flips. But just because someone is currently certain that they’ll never flip, it doesn’t mean they won’t end up being scared into changing their minds.
