Trump and his ilk just face planted

It should hardly surprise anyone that Donald Trump would be at least as awful as he was during his first term when he returned to the Oval Office. Nearly everything we’re seeing – without getting as terrible as it potentially could, are things that he wanted to do back when he last held the reins of power. One of his goals was always going after his political rivals – but he’s largely given up any pretenses of it being about anything besides revenge or his own vindictiveness, and that’s why some of his attacks so far have gone embarrassingly wrong. On Tuesday, conservatives face planted again with their plot to defund National Public Radio.

Despite the accusations that NPR is a biased Democratic cabal trying to push pro-Harris propaganda during the election, the FEC ruled 4-0 against the preposterous idea that NPR was trying to interfere in the 2024 election. Just doing a preliminary study, you can find that far too often, legacy news outlets tend to give conservatives relatively favorable coverage – but even with that benefit of the doubt, clowns like Donald Trump and Elon Musk still manage to screw up.

While Trump does have authoritarian tendencies that are coming into view this time around, the fact remains that even the FEC, with several conservative members, are still unable to carry out his bidding in full, and as we see the man regress day by day, his demands and grudges are only likely to get more outlandish – not more reasonable. Rather than carrying out Trumper demands, DOGE has once again collapsed under its own stupidity.
