Truckers protest outside the White House, and Donald Trump is too senile to understand why they’re there

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump likes to brag how much truckers love him; there is debate as to just how strong his support is among truckers. The thing is, though, a medical and economic crisis can reach far beyond personal political views. Truckers are essential workers and they’re getting paid low shipping rates during the pandemic, and they’re not happy about it.

While Donald Trump was giving a speech today a number of truckers parked their rigs within honking distance, in protest of the low pay they’re getting. It was fairly clear that they wanted Trump to hear them, and to do something about it. But Trump – who at this point is equal parts uninformed, narcissistic, and senile – simply decided that the truckers were there to support him, saying the honking was a “sign of love.”

Come to think of it, truckers have in fact parked themselves out front of the White House in support of Donald Trump in the past. But this time around it’s different. They’re being underpaid to go out and do their jobs during a deadly pandemic, and they want their previous income levels back, and they’re asking Trump to do something about it. Instead he’s delusionally making up stories about how they’re there to protest for him. What an idiot.
