Donald Trump goes berserk as everyone piles on about his “treason summit”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Here’s one for the history books: just as the “President” of the United States is preparing to meet with the President of Russia, the top trending topic on social media in the United States is “treason summit.” The hashtag has taken over Twitter, as Americans come out of the woodwork to label Donald Trump a traitor. Even as his own people were calling for him to be imprisoned, Trump went completely berserk about Russia.

Shortly after the #TreasonSummit hashtag took over Twitter, Donald Trump posted this, seemingly in response: “Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity and now, the Rigged Witch Hunt!” No one seemed to have any idea what point he was trying to make. Three days ago, an American grand jury indicted a dozen Russian government spies for hacking the Democratic Party during the election and sharing those secrets with the Trump campaign.

Why would the United States want a positive relationship with Russia right now? That would make, in all seriousness, about as much sense as the United States worrying about the health of its relationship with Al Qaeda after the 9/11 attacks. In this instance, the difference is that one of the criminal co-conspirators is illegally occupying the White House as a direct result of the Trump-Russia terror plot against the United States.

Instead of resigning and agreeing to stand trial, Donald Trump is running to Vladimir Putin to beg for help. Trump is so transparently desperate for help from Putin, he’s no longer even trying to hide the treasonous nature of what he’s doing. With just a few hours to go before his summit, Trump is betting all the chips he has left on Putin bailing him out. If this gambit fails, Trump will have nothing to come home to but additional Trump-Russia indictments.
