On a path to victory, Joe Biden launches transition site
When Donald Trump tried to falsely declare victory on television last night, most observers simply rolled their eyes. When Trump again tried to falsely declare victory on Twitter today, Twitter cracked down on his tweets. JoeBiden hasn’t tried to declare victory, even though he’s on a solid path to winning.
Now Joe Biden is making an aggressive move by launching his transition website, buildbackbetter.com. The page is titled “BIDEN-HARRIS TRANSITION” and it simply includes this text:
“The American people will determine who will serve as the next President of the United States. Votes are still being counted in several states around the country. The crises facing the country are severe — from a pandemic to an economic recession, climate change to racial injustice — and the transition team will continue preparing at full speed so that the Biden-Harris Administration can hit the ground running on Day One.”
There may not be much to the website yet, but it’s still notable that Joe Biden has gone ahead and launched the site. It’s a sign that he knows he’s going to win, he expects to win within days or hours, and he’s preparing to hit the ground running the minute the media declares him the winner – whether Trump admits Biden has won or not.
