Donald Trump just found a whole new way to be a total coward

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Like all bullies, Donald Trump keeps finding ways to remind us that when it comes down to it, he’s a coward. He’s afraid of Nancy Pelosi. He’s also afraid of Mitch McConnell. He’s even more afraid of Vladimir Putin. For that matter, he’s intimidated by a sixteen year old girl who’s accomplished more on the world stage than he has. Trump loves throwing punches, but then he hides under his desk for fear of what might come next. Now he’s found a whole new way to be a total coward.

Over the weekend Donald Trump floated the notion that he might boycott the 2020 general election debates. He seems to think that this is some kind of negotiating tactic so he can gain a favorable advantage in the debate setup. But Trump is the world’s worst negotiator, and now that everyone outside of his garbage dump base has fully seen through his one-note antics, everyone pretty much shrugged him off. If he’s too afraid to show up and debate his 2020 Democratic opponent, then fine, who needs debates? We don’t have a real president right now anyway.

So yesterday Trump tried a different tactic: he floated the premise that he’ll show up and participate in the 2020 general election debates, but only if they’re not overseen by the debate commission. In other words, he’s afraid of a fair fight, because he knows he’ll lose, so he’s aiming for some kind of alternative debate setup where he gets to call most of the shots. Again, he’s revealing what a coward he is – and everyone outside his dumpster fire base knows it.

It’s way, way, way too early for Donald Trump to even be talking about the 2020 general election debates. He still has no idea who his Democratic opponent will even be. But he’s giving away that he’s afraid of pretty much every Democratic candidate who’s in contention. He should be, too, since he’s polling behind all of them. Trump just keeps finding new ways to remind us that not only is he a laugh-out-loud bad negotiator, he’s also a coward.
