We told you Donald Trump was bluffing
Earlier this evening Palmer Report explained that Donald Trump was about to try to pull off a major bluff with regard to impeachment. Now that Nancy Pelosi is holding off on sending articles of impeachment to the Senate until she can get some assurances of a fair trial, Trump has begun floating the idea of somehow magically holding the trial anyway. Now Trump is taking his bluff to a hilarious extreme.
Not only is Trump threatening to hold a Senate impeachment trial with no articles of impeachment in hand and no House impeachment managers to run it, Trump’s fantasy now also includes forcing all of his designated adversaries to testify during this imaginary trial. Check out this surreal tweet that Trump posted not long after we started calling his bluff:
The reason the Democrats don’t want to submit the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate is that they don’t want corrupt politician Adam Shifty Schiff to testify under oath, nor do they want the Whistleblower, the missing second Whistleblower, the informer, the Bidens, to testify!
Yeah right. Even if a Senate impeachment trial does happen, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell isn’t stupid enough to start subpoenaing “witnesses” like Adam Schiff and the whistleblower, because that kind of stunt would put McConnell’s Senate majority at risk in 2020. But hey, if Trump is going to start bluffing about holding a fantasy version of his Senate impeachment trial, he might as well go all the way with it.
