To sir with love
I’m tired of it, dammit! I’m sick and tired of the crap that one politician is taking and has been taking throughout this election season. Different articles are written for various reasons. In the case of this article, I want no more than to embrace and pay tribute to a man who has been so unfairly maligned — maligned by Republicans, by the press, and by — members of our party.
That person is, of course, Joseph Robinette Biden – the 46th President of the United States. I cannot think of one politician who has taken the crap that President Biden has. And still, he stands. He stands, head held high, Democracy and freedom surrounding him, he stands as an ode to liberty and to common decency, he stands as an uncorruptable force of nature.
Time and again, President Biden has saved us all. He swooped in like some bright blue bird in 2020 and carried us away from the hatred and visceral cruelty of another Trump administration.
He saved our roads and bridges with the magnificent legislation he passed against some VERY extreme headwinds.
He left his ego at the door as he gracefully stepped aside to allow his Vice President to run as the first female African American to do so.
He is Dark Brandon, that onyx statue framed in wisdom; he is that warm and reassuring voice that has, through the last four years, been next to us, been our guiding light, a force for good, a gentle wave in turbulent waters.
He has been our wise owl of the night, standing hard against the forces of evil. He shows himself as a dignified, elegant, empathetic President, a man for whom dignity and grace come as naturally as breathing clean air.
So thank you, sir. Thank you for your beautiful contributions to America. Thank you for sustaining her, for making her better, for not clipping her wings but giving them air to soar higher.
Thank you for still standing after overcoming terrible losses, for pouring that seemingly unending empathy over the American people, leaving them awash in the golden starlight of pride.
You, Mr. President, are one of this nation’s best. If this writer could carve your image on Mount Rushmore, I’d do so. You are looked on with gratitude, smiles, admiration, and love. Thank you, sir, for always doing right by us.
