Throwing down the gauntlet for Joe Biden

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Even though someone with as much international experience and connections as President Joe Biden is exactly who we should have in office right now, as few people are as well-versed in the complexities of the longstanding Israeli-Palestinian conflict as he is – we’re suddenly seeing a wave of social media accounts – even some prominent ones, vowing that they won’t back his reelection for president next year.

Despite supporting Israel while also getting concessions from Egypt and getting aid to Palestinians who need it, somehow these people think that threatening to vote for – or allow the Republican candidate who won’t even consider a two-state solution to take office in 2025 (pretty much all of them are on the same page about this – with at least one pushing for a Muslim ban.)

As with all things, there’s a difference between the real world and the very online political community, so it’s better to just ignore these types rather than approach them with an argument, however rational and measured yours might be. Just about everyone who claims to be not voting for Biden-Harris 2024 was likely never going to vote for them to begin with, so it really doesn’t matter what the Democrats promise between now and next year for them.

Engaging is only giving them the affirmation they want – that their opinions are somehow relevant – so block them if you have to and move on. Do some talking to non-voters instead and get them registered for 2023 and 2024, as well as people outside your political bubble who don’t follow the news as closely and can be persuaded by talking about what Democrats have already accomplished and will accomplish if they’re re-elected.
